Powered by Partnership. Delivered with Purpose. Driven by Impact.

Across Scotland, women remain significantly underrepresented in technology. For those who are neurodivergent, returning to work, refugees, carers, or from non-traditional backgrounds, the barriers are even greater.

The Women & Future Skills Programme in Dundee was created to challenge this. Not by offering another course, but by redesigning the entire journey into tech — from learning to employment — through inclusive design, mentorship, and human centred support.

Our Role: The Data Gals

We focus on what happens after learning — the part where many programmes fall short.

Mentor Spotlight

“It wasn’t until this programme, and the support from my mentor Del, that I felt able to step out of my comfort zone and put myself out there. It gave me the confidence to start applying for data roles and helped me see myself working in data, which I hadn’t before. I’m now being invited to interviews and feel much more confident in myself.”

— Fiona, Aspiring Data Analyst / Researcher

“Taking part in The Data Gals mentorship programme has been a valuable and transformative experience for me. The mentorship helped me better understand my goals, strengthen and transform my skills, improve my abilities, and build confidence in myself.”

— Roksolana, Aspiring Data Scientist

“This programme helped me gain clarity on my direction and build the confidence to explore roles that truly align with my strengths and values. The Data Gals mentorship was especially valuable in helping me reflect and take more intentional next steps.”

— Esraa, Employer Engagement Officer / Aspiring Project Manager

“I have found The Data Gals Mentorship Programme to be a supportive, motivating, and confidence-building experience. Our sessions have helped me gain clarity about my strengths, career interests, and the range of opportunities in the data and GIS fields. Through exploring my skills, mapping them to real roles, improving my CV, and learning how to network effectively, I have developed a much clearer understanding of how to move forward in my career.”

— Shannon, Aspiring Data Professional

“I’d never had a mentor before, and somehow Katarina paired me with exactly the right person. It wasn’t playbooks or frameworks; it was real conversations that changed my mindset and gave me a confidence I didn’t know I was missing.”

— Christine, Global Supply Chain Strategist & Senior Ops Generalist
